West Texas Intermediate (WTI) is the U.S. benchmark crude oil, priced in dollars per barrel. It is the input cost that flows, with a delay, into gasoline and diesel at the pump.
WTI is one part of a fuel price, not the whole thing. Refining margins, taxes, and distribution sit on top, which is why a falling crude quote does not always pull the pump down with it.
Frequently asked

The value at the top of this page is the latest delayed WTI front-month futures price in dollars per barrel.
What is the difference between WTI and Brent?
WTI is the U.S. benchmark, priced at Cushing, Oklahoma. Brent is the international benchmark, priced from North Sea crude. The gap between them, the Brent-WTI spread, reflects global versus U.S. supply and demand.
